One 60-day journey circling the Land Down Under is being halted following the death of an elderly female passenger who was left behind by the vessel on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been trekking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The vessel departed without her and came back several hours later after the crew discovered the passenger was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation discovered her body the subsequent day.
