Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Residents observed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the extensive power failures.

At the same time, around one thousand households in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city experienced its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.

Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
